Ayesa is named Worldwide Innovation Partner of the Year by Liferay

The award comes after the technology firm developed LM2L, a solution that accelerates and optimises migration to the latest version of Liferay DXP.

Ayesa, a global provider of technology and engineering services, has been named Worldwide Innovation Partner of the Year by Liferay. The award recognises partners that have developed outstanding digital experiences on the Liferay platform.

Ayesa was represented at the awards ceremony in Athens by Josu Inchaurraga, the company’s Head of Digital Experience. During his acceptance speech, he thanked his team and everyone at Liferay Spain for their unwavering support and collaboration. He went on to add: ‘It’s their continued trust in Ayesa that allows us to innovate, grow and deliver outstanding solutions to our clients’.

Ayesa’s development of LM2L played an important role in earning the company this prestigious award. The innovative solution, built on the Liferay platform, is designed to accelerate migration to the latest version of Liferay from any off-the-shelf or customised portal.

Inchaurraga explains: ‘LM2L arose from the need of large public-sector organisations to undertake mass migrations of legacy portals, which are frequently outdated either functionally or technologically. We often see a lot of hesitance when it comes to large-scale migrations. This is partly due to the technical difficulties involved as well as resistance from staff, who are accustomed to working in a specific way’.

80% of the portals used by the public sector are thematic or informative in nature. These kinds of sites require little integration or development, but because there are so many of them migration is time-intensive and costly. By automating most of the tasks involved, LM2L allows organisations to overcome these barriers to migration.

The benefits of LM2L

LM2L has been designed to accelerate and optimise migration. As such, it reduces the time taken to complete the migration process; makes it less costly; ensures successful outcomes; minimises errors and inconsistencies; and helps organisations implement new user-friendly document structures. ‘For example, we’re seeing a move from hierarchical taxonomies based on the structure of an organisation to taxonomies that organise content in a user-friendly way’, notes Inchaurraga.

The solution also allows organisations to fully leverage the benefits offered by Liferay. These include segmentation, personalisation and optimisation of the user experience (introduced in the latest version), as well as features such as document management and Liferay’s customisable search engine. ‘Perhaps most importantly, it reduces resistance to change by making migration easier, quicker, safer and cheaper’, concludes Ayesa’s Head of Digital Experience.

The innovative work of Ayesa’s DXP Competence Center is overseen by its central Innovation & Digital Corporate Hub, whose mission is to drive the company’s growth and competitiveness. Within this context, Liferay is one of its most important partners.

As a Liferay Platinum Partner, the company has a team dedicated to developing high-impact strategies and roadmaps aligned with Liferay’s objectives, priorities, strategies and targets for growth. This has seen Ayesa create a number of innovative products for its clients, including LM2L.
