Ayesa helps the Ministry of Health integrate regional IT systems with its own

The technology consultancy will also drive innovation in data analytics and the processing of healthcare records.

The Spanish Ministry of Health has awarded Ayesa a contract to integrate the IT systems used by the country’s regional healthcare services with its own via the Central Healthcare Intranet. The company will also provide support throughout the process, as well as ensure regional systems meet the necessary standards and requirements through certification.

The report justifying the tender, which is valued at EUR 405,369.36, underscores the need to develop public services that increase the interoperability of medical records ‘at a national and international level’, in addition to ‘bringing innovation to data analytics and the way healthcare information is processed’.

It adds: ‘The Ministry of Health is committed to promoting the use of IT and driving interoperability between the various organisations that make up Spain’s National Health Service. To do this, it is important there are sufficient resources to allow for efficient and effective integration. Ultimately, the goal is to allow regional healthcare services to access information held on pre-existing as well as new systems’.

The report also underscores the importance of certification ‘in order to prevent interruptions to the service whenever a regional system is integrated’.

The project will be based on service-level agreements. As such, Ayesa will be responsible for responding to any needs that arise over the course of the contract.
